Nimbus Kitchen, Redruth:
The largest physical installation by Dollar Signs to date for chef duo Mark and David. This extensive identity features oversized wooden billboards paired with traditional reverse-glass lettering across the storefront. Utilising a classic mix of block and casual styles with a dropped block shadow, every element was hand-painted with signwriters' enamels, bypassing digital vinyl in favour of a permanent, human-made presence.
Q Café,
St Agnes:
Finishing touches up the ladder for the lovely folk at Q Café. This comprehensive project spans multiple environments, featuring a crisp direct-to-wall painted sign, two large hand-painted billboards, and a custom CNC-cut, machine-routed 'Q' mounted on wall stays. Crafted entirely by hand to elevate the café's physical presence in the heart of the St Agnes community.
Churchtown Veg & Wholefoods,
St Agnes:
A two-phase, large-scale project for a local staple in a Grade II-listed Victorian shopfront. Spanning a mammoth 14-foot fascia and a massive roadside sign, the execution adopts a refined "less-is-more" philosophy. Featuring a custom display serif, sharp block shading, and a traditional hand-painted manicule, the design beautifully complements the historic architecture.
Cord Surfboards, St Agnes:
Back on the sable chisel writer brushes, bringing traditional layout theory to a historic surfboard factory. Partnering with Head Shaper Markie Lascelles, this commission features meticulous, small-scale block lettering painted directly onto a custom surfboard, leaning into a classic graphic design insider joke: deliberately making the logo bigger. Hand-painted with 1-Shot lettering enamels, the final shaping bay identity brings an enduring, permanent character to the local surf heritage landscape.
Little Feathers Gallery,
St Agnes:
Collaborating with gallery owners Gary and Maria, this project blends modern branding with traditional hand-lettered execution. Meticulously painted with 100% human craft and absolutely zero AI, the high-contrast typography sits on marine-grade plywood framed by Victorian-style hardwood beading, bringing a soulful, permanent character to the old St Agnes village square.
Dish Cornwall, Newquay:
An exploration in surface gilding and dimensional flair for chef duo David and Mark. This project marks a successful first-time use of premium copper leaf, sealed with a protective clear coat to prevent tarnishing. Finished with a sharp, hand-painted black cast shadow to lift the letterforms, this bespoke piece sets the stage for a massive 15-foot exterior mural.
The Welloe,
Praa Sands:
A collaborative coastal restoration alongside fellow sign painter and good friend Ali (Hands For Feet Signs), battling 35% wall moisture and salty Cornish air. The fix required troubleshooting the substrate and road-testing A.S. Handover Ox hair brushes to conquer the rough render, precisely following a peer's original brushstrokes to preserve the hand-painted piece against the elements.
